Debate Club

A space to practice the art of arguing, listening, and persuading.

We’ve done it again! The Divina Seguros Chair of Analytical Thinking – ESIC has crossed the Atlantic to land at the very heart of global diplomacy. Last March, a group of our brightest students took part in Change the World Model United Nations (CWMUN) in New York, and the result was, quite simply, transformative.

The Setting: Where the Future Is Decided

More than 3,500 students from every corner of the globe gathered at the headquarters of the United Nations. This was no ordinary simulation. It was a full immersion across more than 24 UN committees, where informative noise disappeared to make room for what we do best: rigorous analysis and well-founded reasoning.

Our representatives debated the most pressing challenges on today’s global agenda, proving that analytical thinking is not merely an academic theory, but a vital tool for defending solid arguments and not being swayed by appearances.

Talent Backed by Support: The Chair’s Scholarships

At the Chair, we have a firm commitment to knowledge transfer. That is why we awarded five scholarships of €500 each to support our students’ participation in this elite competition. We firmly believe that fostering these social and critical skills is the best investment in a freer, better-prepared society.

We would like to give special recognition to all the students who carried the spirit of the Chair all the way to the Big Apple.

At the Chair, we continue working to ensure that analysis is your strongest defense. Because in a world full of noise, thinking for yourself is the greatest success.
